State Law
760 CMR 71.03 authorizes reasonable dimensional requirements, provided they are not more restrictive than what is required for the principal dwelling or accessory structures in the same district.
Local Bylaw
The footprint of a new detached ADU cannot exceed that of the principal dwelling (ยง 240-9.1C(7)).
